  11. Depends on the provider and the plan you chose. most will only give you 1 or 2 IPS and any extra you have to order with justification

  17. can you just brief more about your requirement . why you need 3 extra IPs ?
  18. You can easily get 3 additional IPs , however you will have to provide the justification .. the purpose for which you need the additional IPs to your server provider.

  23. Now with SNI, there is no longer the need to have too many IP addresses on a VPS.
  24. We normally provide 2 IPs on different Class C networks (for want of a better description). As this is the requirement for nameservers if you are running DirectAdmin or C'Panel.
  25. Usually we can provide more, but as the previous hosts have stated, we normally need a reason. Most the time we are not going directly to RIPE, but to an upsteam provider, but they too need to provide a reason to ARIN or RIPE. So it's faster and easier to provide this information at the offset.
  26. Now with SNI, there is no longer the need to have too many IP addresses on a VPS.
  27. That is true, but Symantec and Comodo still say an SSL works better on its own Dedicated IP. SNI is fine if you just have a basic DV SSL, but for an OV or EV then best to get a dedicated IP.

  32. I guess, why you need the IP's is the real question.
  33. ipv4 is scarce, you won't get it without real justification.
  34. No, SSL isn't a justification any longer
  35. No, SEO isn't a justification

  41. No, SSL isn't a justification any longer
  42. It is if you want a Ded IP for an OV or EV SSL cert as it is still recommended to use a Ded IP for these classes of SSL

  47. I've never been rejected an IP number when we need to install an SSL Certificate. Yes there is fewer of them in the world today than there were 4 or 5 years ago, but there's still plenty around.
  48. @whmcsguru - what is your justification for a need of an IP, if SSL is not a valid reason?

  54. SSL is no longer a valid reason for IP justification. SNI removes that necessity.
  55. There are justifications for IP's, though I'm not going to help you out and give them to you. Do your own homework

  62. so wrong, read my post
  63. Extra IPs
  64. I still prefer a dedicated IP for an SSL cert, especially if its a mission critical domain

  69. It is depends on hosting providers and you need to mention the usage of the IP's so that you can get more additional IP's,If you are not using it any spamming purpose so you have to contact your hosting provider and tell them your requirement in brief
  70. Thank you mates for the suggestion
  71. There are justifications for IP's, though I'm not going to help you out and give them to you. Do your own homework
  72. Seriously - that's a copout answer!!
  73. I personally have no need to have an alternate answer, as every host I've ever worked with has NO PROBLEM with SSL being justification.
  74. Heck, when I had servers at SingleHop, I requested just over 2,000 IP addresses, and the justification was eCommerce sites with SSL Certificates. And yes, we had more than 2,000 sites that we were moving there.
  75. Just 3 weeks ago I requested 9 IP Addresses for 9 websites we were launching, and eCommerce and SSL Certificates was a warranted justification.
  76. Of course, I actually HAD eCommerce sites to put on those IPs, so that makes me different than many people requesting stuff.
  77. So, I reject your answer

  82. If you are a member of RIPE they give you a /22, so they can't be that scarce.
  83. I've no problem giving IPs for SSL eCommerce sites, but if the same person has 500 different eCommerce sites, I would not give them 500 IPs. If they have 500 different customers, with SSL and eCommerce, then I would do my damn best to provide them.
  84. I don't think sites you make your living from ought to be shared with other customers.
  85. That's why shared hosting uses shared IPs, but our Elastic-Sites have dedicated IPs. Elastic Sites after all are a "VPS Replacement/Enhancement" and VPSs would have their own IP.
