Last but not least I'd like to say some words about my current mining pool. It's one of the smaller ones.
Currently between 700 and 800 active miners at a hashrate of 700 GH/s, which yields an estimeate block find rate of
1.20 blocks/24h.
BUT, there is NO fee and the PPLNS system uses N=24h. This means whenever a block is found all your shares of the last 24 hours are paid out.
So when the pool runs lucky and you find a few blocks in a 24 hour period you get out more than with the large pools, especially when you are mining with low end equipment.
Another nice feature is their jackpot and the referal program.
1% of each blocks is used in part to fill the jackpot which is paid out once per week to onelucky active miner.
The rest of that 1% is paid out as referal reward to the so called "minipool owners".
