  1. After Neymar left Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain in a world-record €222 million deal in the summer, the onus was on Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez to continue producing magic for the Catalan club this season.
  2. That was even more the case when Ousmane Dembélé - who was brought to replace Neymar - injured his hamstring in the opening few weeks of the campaign sidelining him for months.
  3. While Messi is doing his best to make up for a third of ‘MSN’ leaving the club, Suarez is struggling.
  4. While that much is obvious in their performances alone, a look at their goalscoring tally sums it up.
  5. Messi has notched 12 goals in 10 La Liga matches, while Suarez has scored just three times.
  6. But the Argentine is trying to help his teammate.
  7. That much could be seen in the 41st-minute during Barcelona’s 2-0 victory against Atletico Bilbao on Saturday.
  8. Messi had just given his side the lead when they were given a free-kick in a fantastic opportunity just outside the box. You couldn’t blame the five-time Ballon d’Or for wanting the set-piece all for himself considering the form he's in.
  9. Messi picked up the ball, placed it on the ground and got ready to take the free kick.
  10. However, after a quiet word in his ear from Suarez, Messi walked away and let the striker take it as he looks to improve his disappointing campaign.
  11. It was a beautiful moment and, once again, showed how unselfish Messi can be towards his teammates.
  12. Suarez couldn’t convert his free-kick but would have no doubt appreciated being given the chance.
