Real Madrid legend Luis Figo believes his former club need not rush into the transfer market all guns blazing especially with the January window fast approaching,
The Portuguese veteran who spent five years at Real Madrid after the controversial switch from Barcelona feels the Merengues squad is already as good as it can get despite their slow start to the season. The former Ballon
D'Or
winner also believes that the club is in a very different place nowadays.
"There aren't any players who could improve Real Madrid. It's different to my era. Before, Madrid gambled on big stars, but the philosophy has changed now.
"The club gambles now as well, but on young players, on
Spaniards.
" Figo told Bild
The one-time Barcelona ace who was Florentino Perez's first Galactico signing over a decade ago also discussed his former teammate Zinedine
Zidane,
and says he enjoys watching the Frenchman's success in the dugout.
"His current success shows that you can't do any better as Real Madrid coach. I'm delighted for him." the 44-year old Portuguese added
The departures of Alvaro Morata and Mariano Diaz over the summer did not lead to incoming replacements and thus Zinedine Zidane has been left with Karim Benzema, Cristiano
Ronaldo
and Borja Mayoral to lead the line.
