The Samsung Galaxy S III Mini (S3 Mini) is an Android 4.1 smartphone and even though the name may suggest that this is a mini version of the high-end Galaxy S III the dimensions and specifications have been reduced to put this handset in the midrange sector of the market. The phone has a smaller 4 inch touchscreen display and whilst the original S III is packing quad-core power the S III Mini has a dual-core chip instead. This still gives plenty of power when using the phone features and handles multitasking easily. The optical package has been scaled down too with a more modest 5 megapixel rear facing camera and VGA camera on the front for video calls. The rear camera includes geo-tagging, autofocus and face detection as well as video recording at 30fps whilst the expandable memory will allow plenty of room for your pictures.
Whilst this phone may not be able to compete fully with its S III namesake the Mini does have all the essential mid-range connection options including 3.5G, Wi-Fi, GPS and Wi-Fi Hotspot as well as DLNA and NFC. The full complement of messaging options are supported and the document viewer is ideal for email attachments and must-have features such as social network integration have also been included. Other features of the Samsung Galaxy S III Mini include a FM radio, multimedia player and pre-loaded Google applications as well as access to Google Play with more than 450,000 apps to download.
