The Windermere is termed as a ribbon lake – a ribbon lake is natural lake shaped like a finger and it forms because of a glacier moving from hard bedrock to soft bedrock and its being sandwiched. Anyway, Windermere is the biggest natural lake in England and it is 11.23 miles long with a width of .93 mile. People go there to do boating activities and for a swim.
