  3. Disabling such extensions does not mean the system won't be infected anymore, it means the user won't notice the infection anymore. Wouldn't it be a bit difficult to host those on the web store? Some of the companies may not go through with updating their apps in this manner. If those extensions are extremely important to you, please contact the developers and encourage them to apply the webstore.
  4. As for being able to use the dev channel builds, how am I supposed to teach every single one of my friends how to install it and use it, and furthermore, ask them to cope with the bugs just to use my extensions? There's no lag between major versions, whatever code they've got, you will get. Thoughts Norton Password Manager is a decent extension and addition to the Norton Antivirus suite but its features are surpassed by other free options like LastPass or Dashlane.
  5. Not allowing me to use the extensions of programs that I have paid for just because they don't happen to be in your store is absurd. They have their information available on a third party site, but are no longer working any more on the projects for probably 2 yrs. If you feel that Norton is a safer program then by all means I will stick with it. Yes I use adblock because it speeds up my browsing and yes if adblock is disabled. Also, what about extensions that are developed internally by a company for use only internally by that company? Those providers have no reason to add those apps to the Google store. Chrome has disabled two extensions that I make use of often- one daily.
  6. Symantec Norton Password Manager Review & Rating - Then do what you want. Otherwise, no one ever will be able to use it because of our draconian 'safety' features that means we have full control of what you can and cannot install and we don't even care about your opinions!
  7. My Norton antivirus program is about to expire and I was going to switch to Microsoft Antivirus, but will it have issues with Google's Chrome Browser instead of Internet Explorer as a browser. Have been using Norton with no problems until recently when I got a message to upgrade it. Doing so got me blue screen. Now I get a Norton message that my Chrome Browser is not protected and to install Norton Chrome extensions. So it seems Norton has a problem with Chrome also. Track this discussion and email me when there are updates If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include norton chrome extensions your system info, including operating system, model number, and any other specifics related to the problem. Also please exercise your best judgment when posting in the forums--revealing personal information such as your e-mail address, telephone number, and address is not recommended. Preview post Submit post Cancel post First a warning: Microsoft Defender is rated very low. See the pic with the red bars in If you want it free, avast, avira or avg are far better choices. Most antivirus programs now come with a module that in some way check the links shown by a search engine or the links that you click against their database before you actually load them to minimise the risk of going to unsafe sites. If they don't have, they still should check the stuff coming from that site when you really load it. I thnk that the Norton message relates to some pro-active feature like that. Kees Norton chrome extensions you very much for your speedy help. I do appreciate your guidance. If you feel that Norton is a safer program then by all means I will stick with it. I am running Windows 7. Thank you again - I look forward to your reply. As usually, Microsoft manages to name and rename its services in ways that are uncomprehensible to most of us. But the negative reviews, I'm afradi, are about both. At work, we're using McAfee. And, if fact, your pruident surfing and download behaviour, and your knowing to not click on suspect links in phishing e-mails are best protection. Kees Effectively Microsoft Security Essentials is just a beefed up version of Windows Defender. I agree with Kees and recommend one of the other free versions he suggested. The Google Chrome browser is just that, an internet browser, and has no special problems. Mark Thank you very much, MarkFlax. It seemed so odd for Norton to suddenly be putting that message onto my monitor and I wondered if evening opening the message could be a virus.
