This is not for the faint at heart. Had this show been spread out over a 13 episode season, I am sure it would have been difficult for me to return each week. As stories go, many of the plot lines were anticipated, what wasn't anticipated was the gratuitous violence. If this is your genre, you will not be disappointed. So I am a Punisher fan and I enjoyed the show also, Jon Bernthal does a much better Punisher than he does Shane. So lets talk about why non fans of Punisher may not enjoy the show and what fans of the comic may miss... Non Fans - OMG the Dialog is terrible.. As a non fan you are not going to see anyone arc here there will be zero character development and you wont be interested in the life or death of anyone involved. Fans - One of the things i love about Punisher is his situational awareness, scoping and planning and careful consideration of all the over the top insane amount of violence he is about to bring down. As one should expect the violence is not Ultra in any sense and it seems they have taken away the tactician aspect to have his nerd sidekick do all that cause technology.. So thats where i live. I enjoy the show, it could be better. Maybe i like it because im already a fan of the idea of it. This is not for the faint at heart.
