  6. Neither the Windows 7 nor my Windows 10 environment can even run implicit remoting against those systems. InternalHostUserI nterface CurrentCulture : en-US CurrentUICulture : en-US PrivateData : Microsoft. I could have taken extra steps to create my own object and type extension, in which case I would have used this same type of code to define the property, but in an XML file. I am using Add-Member to define a new property. Probably should have mentioned that. Where the remote session usage shown above is great for addressing immediate needs, the true power of PowerShell Remoting is in connecting to multiple machines. Once the driver was installed, the session automatically picked up right where it left off. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
  7. My script does it all on the fly using Add-Member. That chapter does contain all the things I teased about, and more. I can come back into the remote session and carry on where I left off all modules are loaded, any diagnostic objects I created earlier persist, etc. The module object that Get-Module returns contains valuable information about the module.
  8. You can use the properties to format and filter the module objects. The process that you must go through is not intuitive. If you send a read or write operation to a data index, then the contents of memory that it points to are retrieved or changed, respectively. How to Enable PowerShell Remote for Hyper-V Both the local and remote systems must be set up properly for PowerShell Remote to work. For a Server operating system, start in Server Manager. This is the same output that we got from the implicit remoting earlier, but it required more typing, and more to remember. The entire risk arising out of the use or performance of the sample scripts and documentation remains with you. But things become difficult when you have to do this for hundreds of computers.

  10. To make use of implicit remoting with the Hyper-V module, you must have it installed on your local computer. Determine PowerShell version remotely via WMI. You can use this parameter to get modules from computers and devices that are not running the Windows operating system, and computers that have Windows PowerShell, but do not have Windows PowerShell remoting enabled. If that fails, then assume PowerShell is not installed. You can use the Get-Item cmdlet, as shown in the following example, to get the file version information. Nor can I tell the state of the session from the process.
  11. Display what user accounts are using remote sessions on the specified computers. If you are interested in troubleshooting, and creating network maps, then I recommend that you try NPM now.
