  3. What is the best cloud server/service for a marketplace? ((1 million + products, 150 000+ monthly orders) - Magento

  13. What are the minimal requirements we would need to meet(60GB ram, 16 cpus, etc...)
  14. What would be our best option? (Google, Amazon, 1&1 seem to have some good packages)
  15. We would import all the 1m+ products from a catalogue to Magento via SQL.
  16. Anything you could help me with would be highly appreciated.
  17. Thanks in advance!
  18. This sounds like it would be very database intensive, so it would be sensible to opt for some cloud platform such as AWS / GCP / Digital Ocean.
  19. They all have their own take on dedicated database instances which would provide the best availability and flexibility for you, then you could provision a virtual server to serve the web traffic, and fetch the products from the database instance.
  20. Any ion the so called major clouds will charge yo 2 - 5 times more than the web hosting providers that offer a Cloud infrastructure. Companies like AWS, Azure will not provide you with a technical support, unless you pay separately for that. The cost of a good tech support with them is around $100 per month. So, search the WHT.

  27. If you are doing the above and ask this:
  28. What are the minimal requirements we would need to meet
  29. It seems something is not right. If you are capable of doing a project with 1 million products, with all the data manipulation, database queries and what not, you should be able to tell what you need.
  30. Good luck with your project.

  41. Amazon and Digital Ocean do have separate database handling instances but price wise Google is more pricier than those two.
  42. Google may be more than DO, but is most certainly far cheaper than Amazon on the areas they overlap, and far superior network and instance level uptime for maintenance too. GCP and AWS are not 1:1 and have quite a few differences and google offers a lot less types of service (DO as well)
  43. You are better to avoid a Cloud instance as pricing will be very high, you are better off going with two servers. One Dedicated for the database with SSD to operate all the queries and loading, and then a smaller server for the web-frontend + Cloudflare. This will ensure optimal performance and still be a cost/profit valuable budget.

  45. While a popular answer here, it's not really best for global businesses, nor many projects. Cloud can offer far greater scale, network, security, and redundancy when apps are designed right than simple server deployments. Further, it offers far better ability to code out every aspect of the deployment and make it repeatable at any time.
