The Valle Nevado is a ski resort located in the low hills of El Plomo in the Andes Mountains of Chile and its nearest town is Santiago which is about 29 miles or 46 kilometers away from the resort. The area wherein tourists can ski in Valle Nevado is about 7,000 acres and it has 11 lifts all in all, paddle and chair lift combined with two surface lifts which they call “magic carpet”. It was established in 1988 by French businessmen and it took them a little over a year to finish the whole resort.
