  11. Getting root access and installing a custom rom is a way to get the most out of ricing. However it is not needed to start your ricing experience.
  13. Since each phone and carrier is different, it is highly suggested that you take a look at XDA Developer.
  14. They provide detail steps that is needed for getting root access or for installing a new rom.
  15. You can even get applications that is in development that may or may not be in the play store.

  22. A good entry-level ROM for those new to the scene. Updates often on the latest Android version with some customization features. [Most popular]

  30. Best for customizing the size and colors of the UI. Also has the feature to use an alternative to the nav bar called Pie.
