  10. The one real-life speed dating study I’ve seen about this comes to similar conclusions (http://faculty.chicagobooth.edu/emir.kamenica/documents/racialPreferences.pdf), although it is a more positive picture for black women and a more dismal one for Asian men. Also, it found that people who grew up in more diverse areas were *less* likely to be open to interracial relationships, so it might not be true that OKCupid = more progressive = more friendly to interracial relationships. I’d be interested to see the data by state.

  16. Blah blah Blah. I am sick of hearing about how preferring to see someone of your own race is not racism. Wake up people! Let’s think about it for a second. Logically speaking, if you prefer something over another you think it is better than the other. (Unless you’re a masochist). So if you strongly prefer to date someone of a specific race you are saying something about that race is superior to others. Hmmm how does that not sound racist? COME ON!!! I am particularly disgusted by the Caucasian statistic on if they would strongly prefer to date someone of their own race. Caucasian males and females are at about 55%, while virtually every other ethnic group is 70% or higher. It makes it even worse that I am in a very predominantly white area of the US and am myself not white.
