  20. I think you need to learn the market and current offers. The number of IPv4 is limited and there are not that many IPs available - that's why they cost much more then $1 per IP.

  30. IPs have not been $1 or less in many years. The normal is $2-3/mo each by most providers. there are few providers like OVH that charge a one time setup fee instead of monthly.
  32. What are the specifications of the VPS you are needing, but cause as mentioned some companies offer 5 IPs for free as long as there proper justification of the IP addresses. This often depends on the specifications of the VPS needed though. For example a VPS with 1 Core, 256MB of Ram, and 10GB of disk space almost never will have proper justification for more then 1-2 IP addresses.

  38. When you look at a VPS price, much of that monthly price is for IPv4. This is exactly why a VPS with IPv6 only (and NAT IPv4), is at least $1 cheaper, because it does not have that dedicated IPv4. I don't think providers make much money from IPv4 to begin with; it's just resold to add their VPS or dedicated hosting with it.

  45. If the server could have cost $100 with 1 IPv4 IP, I can then give you 5 IPs included with it and charge you $110. You paid $2.5 per additional IP and feel like you've gotten free IPs.

  78. These days it is very rare for there to be a legitimate reason to need to assign additional IPs to a VPS -- I suspect your reasons for 5 IP addresses might have better (and probably free) solutions. If you post why you need them, perhaps someone here can advise you on a better route.
