Tutorial – How to bypass your mobile carrier’s Tether-Block on Rooted Android Devices (UPDATED FOR 4.4.2 Kitkat))
NOTE : Recently, many U.S. mobile carriers have imposed a tether block on the unlimited data plans of their customers. Until recently, this block has made it very difficult to tether wirelessly from Android devices as all tethering apps, at some point, pass through a series of checks built into the custom carrier ROMs of devices on most networks.
You will need the following android apps to complete this tutorial:
Xposed Inataller for Android
Xposed XTether for Andoid
Below, you will find a step-by-step guide to bypassing your carrier’s wifi tethering block.
1) Download and install the above mentioned apps on your android device.
2) Open the Xposed Installer app from your app drawer and tap “Framework”
3) Tap “Install / Update” and tap “Allow” when SuperSU requests root access. *Tap CANCEL at the reboot request.
4) Tap “Modules” in the Xposed Installer drop down menu.
5) Tap the checkbox next to “Moto Tether” to activate tethering.
6) Reboot your device.
7) Turn on your device’s native mobile hotspot app to start tethering.
If all goes well, you should now be able to connect to your mobile hotspot with any other device or computer.
