Director General of Small and Medium Industry (IKM) of the Ministry of Industry, Gati Wibawaningsih, said that the export value of batik and batik products reached US $ 51.15 million (Rp 664 billion), up from the first semester of 2017 which amounted to US $ 39.4 million (Rp 511 billion). The main market destination of batik exports, namely to Japan, the United States, and Europe.
Batik industry plays an important role in the growth of national economy. Sectors dominated by small and medium industries (IKM) is able to contribute significant foreign exchange of the country from exports.
