SCRIPTURE: I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for evermore. Psalm 86:12
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: To entertain guilt is to sacrifice praise.
The benefits of praising God cannot be over emphasized in the life of a Christian. Apart from connecting one to God in the place of prayer, praise is a weapon of warfare. To live well is to praise well.
The state of one’s heart affects the flow of one’s praise because praise flows from the heart (Psalm 9:1). To defend your praise, you must defend your joy.
What then are the facilitators of praise?
1) A Guilt-free Heart: A guilty man is not a happy man and the death of joy is the ruin of praise (Psalm 51:12). The joy of salvation is attacked in a person’s life when sin is allowed. True praise flows from the beauty of holiness. To entertain guilt is to sacrifice praise.
2) Worry-Free Heart: Whatever weighs down your heart weighs down your praise. A heart occupied with worry must be deficient of praise. Worry and praise are mutually exclusive; the choice of one is the choice against the other. Worry focuses on what you lack while praise focuses on what you have.
Beloved, decide not to give in to worry.
Remember this: To entertain guilt is to sacrifice praise.
