The Martingale betting system for roulette is a very simple progressive betting strategy which is based on long-term odds. It is designed so that a single win will wipe out all previous losses.
To bet along the Martingale system, a player must bet the minimum amount on red or black, even or odd, or one of the other even-money roulette betting options. As long as the player is winning, a new minimum bet can be placed. If he loses, the Martingale betting system kicks in.
After each loss, the next bet must double the previous bet. The idea is that when the player finally wins, the doubled bet will be greater than all previous losses, no matter how many previous losses there have been. After that win, the bet goes back down to the minimum, and the process starts all over again.
